In mid-2019, I participated in the opera production Albert Herring at the Manhattan School of Music as a wig artist and hair stylist. There was no transposition of the context, so the story was still set in 1900 Britain. Due to budget constraints, unless an actress's hair wasn't long enough, they were expected to do their own hair in the 1900s Edwardian fashion, also known as the Gibson Girl hairstyle.
As a result, my duties, aside from prepping the show, included training the actresses to style their hair and styling wigs for several actresses whose hair was simply too short.

Since everyone was on a very tight schedule, we could only do one in-person training session for me to demonstrate. During the session, participants were allowed to film the process for their reference. I also made sure that I went through every critical technique needed for the styles we were going for.
After the in-person training session, I followed up with a tutorial (as shown above) with text and images to reinforce the learners’ memories of things covered in the session. They could couple this instructional material with the videos of me demonstrating they took in the session.
